Luther Terrace has 29 one bedroom apartments and 10 efficiency apartments. We offer rental assistance to qualified applicants who are 62 and older, and are open to people of all faiths and religions. The apartments have furnished kitchens, private bedroom and bath and large closets. All units have optional cable TV, utilities and maintenance included, coin operated laundry, card key access to building. A Care Manager assists residents in accessing services to enrich their lives. Residents may choose to participate in weekly worship service and Bible Study provided by the Wesley Pastoral Care staff . The atmosphere at Luther Terrace is very peaceful because we have the nicest group of residents. When they gather in the lobby to talk or play a game, they always have something nice to say. This helps new residents feel they have moved to a good neighborhood and community. Luther Terrace is also a Green Community. Luther Terrace was awarded a Green Retrofit Grant by the Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2010. The grant allowed us to replace all of the old refrigerators to state-of-the art Energy Star refrigerators. Also, new Energy Star air conditioners and heaters were installed to help Luther Terrace save on electric consumption saving sparse resources for future generations. New insulated windows add comfort for the residents while conserving energy. Additionally, Luther Terrace installed water saving devices to further save resources. Interior air quality for the building was also assessed. Cabinets, flooring, and paint that contained Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and formaldehydes were replaced with VOC products to ensure the air quality is pure. The residents here participate in recycling, energy conservation, and pest control without spraying. We are living healthier at Luther Terrace and are proud of our efforts to minimize our footprint so that we can preserve our fragile environment for our grandchildren and beyond. Community Info
